Role Overview

This position seeks an early-career Simulation Software Engineer to join an expanding skilled engineering team. The engineer will contribute to a simulation engine that validates automation and operator controls for highly critical hardware. This role offers growth into a specialized field combining software engineering, physics, and safety-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust, high-performance simulation software.
• Support and enhance infrastructure for simulation configuration and execution.
• Collaborate with users to design new simulation features and models.
• Work alongside compiler, frontend engineers, and product teams to integrate simulation tools into the larger Revel ecosystem.
• Engage in code reviews and support ongoing process improvements.
• Address engineering challenges in simulation under mentorship from senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic skills in C++ and/or Rust or strong eagerness to develop these skills rapidly.
• Familiarity with modern software development methodologies including testing and peer reviews.
• Academic or practical understanding of physics and applied mathematics, including thermodynamics or fluid dynamics.
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.

Preferred Skills

• Experience or exposure to TypeScript and/or Python.
• Knowledge of numerical methods or differential equations through coursework or projects.
• Interest in software for safety-critical or mission-critical applications.
• Experience with simulation, modeling, or software for physical systems is advantageous.
