Role overview

This position is for a Service Technician supporting wind turbine operations across regional Australia. The role suits someone with an interest in electrical work, mechanics, and hydraulics who wants to contribute to the growth of renewable energy. You will be part of a global organisation focused on sustainable energy solutions, with strong emphasis placed on safety, training, and technical development.

The service team is responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance and operational support for wind farms around Australia.

Work location and travel

This is not a FIFO position, and you must be based in the region where the work is performed. Locations mentioned include:

• Western Australia: Merredin, Jurian Bay, Geraldton
• South Australia: Port Augusta/Whyalla, Millicent/Mt Gambier
• Victoria: Warnambool, Ballarat, Sale
• New South Wales: Canberra/Goulburn, Inverall/Glen Innes
• Queensland: Hughenden, Chinchilla/Dulacca, Atherton
• Tasmania: Musselroe, Granville Harbour

Working hours are 8 hours per day, with weekend on-call duty roughly once every 3 to 4 weeks. Travel is expected for around 50 days per year.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest safety and environmental standards while meeting service targets.
• Perform scheduled service inspections according to Vestas procedures.
• Replace and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
• Help ensure turbine performance through condition monitoring and remote control systems.
• Keep the service vehicle efficient and the warehouse stocked by ordering tools, materials, and spare parts as needed.
• Assemble and service parts in line with current standards and work instructions, including the use of internal or external cranes when required.

Requirements

• Trade background in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic work, with a desire to keep developing in these areas.
• Comfortable using computers and different tools or systems for work tracking and documentation.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to climb wind turbines and carry out demanding physical work at height and in changing weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel to other sites when needed.
• Good teamwork and communication skills for working with field colleagues and wider stakeholders.
• Independent, organised, and solution-focused approach to work.
