Senior Engineer, Operations

Job Overview

Manage daily operations of power distribution networks in VIP and remote locations to ensure a dependable and safe electricity supply that meets demand. Responsibilities include overseeing system performance, resolving operational challenges, collaborating with maintenance teams, and promoting new technology integrations. The role emphasizes optimizing power network operations by analyzing data and driving continuous improvements.

General Duties

• Ensure organizational policies, procedures, and systems are followed and align with group delegation of authority, meeting all legislative and procedural requirements while delivering consistent, quality, and cost-effective services.
• Complete all business and Transco reports accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare periodic management and progress reports to inform senior leadership and support decision-making.

Specific Responsibilities

• Oversee the stability, safety, and regulations compliance of power network operations in designated areas.
• Identify and address operational issues in coordination with maintenance teams implementing corrective measures.
• Conduct real-time monitoring and analyze data to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Support deployment of new technologies and automation to boost operational performance.
• Ensure strict adherence to operational and safety procedures by field personnel.
• Work with control centers to manage power flow, respond to incidents, and maintain communication during outages or disruptions.
• Assist in planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance alongside O&M teams.
• Generate operational reports and provide recommendations based on system performance and analysis.
• Offer technical support to field engineers and maintenance teams to sustain optimal network functionality.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance network performance, reduce downtime, and implement predictive maintenance strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience is required.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience are preferred.
