Senior Duck Creek Policy Configurator

Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Duck Creek Policy Configurator to design, configure, and provide ongoing support for policy administration solutions within a large-scale insurance technology framework. This role involves close cooperation with business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to develop and refine Duck Creek Rating, Policy, and Manuscripts functionalities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Duck Creek Rating components to establish accurate, compliant, and efficient insurance product rating logic.
• Develop and improve Duck Creek Policy configurations supporting end-to-end policy administration processes such as new business, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
• Create and maintain Duck Creek Manuscripts for customized forms, clauses, coverage details, and policy documentation.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and stakeholders to convert business needs into scalable configuration solutions.
• Design policy administration features in line with business, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Conduct configuration unit testing and assist in system integration testing to verify rating rules, policy workflows, and document generation functions.
• Investigate and resolve defects found during testing and production, implementing permanent solutions via root cause analysis.
• Provide production environment support by troubleshooting policy administration and rating concerns, managing incidents to minimize business impact.
• Work alongside QA, operations, and release teams to ensure successful deployments and consistent configuration across environments.
• Document configuration designs, business rule mappings, technical decisions, and implementation strategies to support knowledge sharing and maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying reusable patterns, configuration standards, and best practices within the Duck Creek platform.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and mentor others on Duck Creek configuration methods and delivery practices.

Key Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience in configuring and supporting Duck Creek Policy, Duck Creek Rating, and Duck Creek Manuscripts within insurance environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of insurance policy administration systems and lifecycle phases including new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and servicing.
• Proficiency in configuring insurance product rating models, underwriting rules, form selections, and policy workflows.
• Ability to effectively translate business requirements into functional and technical configuration solutions.
• Experience with testing procedures including unit testing, system integration testing, defect management, and production validation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities concerning configuration, data, and workflow issues in complex insurance platforms.
• Operational experience supporting production environments including incident management and service request handling.
• Familiarity with insurance business processes and best practices in policy administration.
• Experience working in Agile environments collaborating with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA teams, and developers.
• Excellent documentation skills for creating clear configuration specifications, business rule mappings, and support materials.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
• Proven ability to identify and implement reusable, standardized, and continuous improvement solutions within Duck Creek implementations.
