Role overview

Ciklum is hiring a Senior Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Engineer for a full-time role in India. The position calls for 6+ years of hands-on AI/ML engineering experience, strong Python expertise, and practical work with embedding pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and multilingual NLP models. You will partner closely with the AI/ML lead to design, build, and improve pipelines that support knowledge generation and retrieval in multiple languages.

Responsibilities

• Work on the retrieval and generation pipeline under the AI/ML lead's direction.
• Design, build, and refine embedding workflows to produce reliable vector representations.
• Create and improve the draft-to-publish knowledge base article generation flow, including confidence scoring.
• Maintain strong multilingual quality across all approved Phase 1 languages.
• Develop retrieval evaluation harnesses to assess pipeline effectiveness.
• Prepare the foundation for Phase 2 LLM tuning, including fine-tuning approaches and evaluation measures.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in AI/ML engineering.
• Strong Python skills for machine learning and data processing work.
• Practical experience with embedding pipelines and RAG generation loops.
• Familiarity with vector databases such as Qdrant or pgvector.
• Experience in applied NLP, preferably with multilingual models.
• Hands-on exposure to integrating LLM APIs.
• Good understanding of ML evaluation techniques and confidence scoring.

Work model and location

This role follows a hybrid arrangement, with 12 days per month required in the office. The Pune office is located at M-Connect, 3rd Floor, Plot no (1+2), Bavdhan Khrud, Taluka-Mulshi, District-Pune-411021, India. A Chennai office is also mentioned at RMZ Millinea Campus 5, Campus-1a, RMZ Millenia, Phase II, Kodandarama Nagar, Perungudi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
