Overview
TechFlow, Inc. is searching for a seasoned Scrum Master to join a critical Department of Defense software development and modernization effort based in Montgomery, AL. This role involves leading Agile practices on a mission-critical program aimed at sustaining, enhancing, and optimizing a crucial customer system through secure and scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead an Agile software development team as Scrum Master, facilitating all Scrum ceremonies such as Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Release Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives within agreed time, ensuring discipline in Agile processes.
- Coach the team on Agile values, Scrum frameworks, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Work closely with the Government Product Owner to ensure backlog refinement, prioritization, and readiness for sprint execution.
- Enforce team standards including Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
- Identify and remove impediments hindering team progress, escalating as necessary.
- Maintain sprint metrics—including burndown charts, velocity, capacity planning, and impediment logs—and generate reports using government-approved Agile tools.
- Keep open communication regarding sprint progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers with government and program leadership.
- Foster collaboration among software engineers, DevSecOps, testers, DBAs, and technical writers.
- Encourage Agile maturity through coaching, mentoring, and process enhancements.
- Ensure alignment with contract requirements, Agile best practices, and program reporting obligations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of Scrum Master experience on Department of Defense software programs.
- Active Agile certification such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist (SA), or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), maintained current during employment.
- Proven track record facilitating Agile development teams within Scrum environments.
- Experience with government-approved Agile tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.
- Skilled at creating automated Agile dashboards, metrics, and reports.
- Strong grasp of Agile methodologies, Scrum practices, software development lifecycle, and DevSecOps concepts.
- Excellent communication, leadership, facilitation, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
- Active Secret Security Clearance required.
Preferred Experience
- Prior involvement in U.S. Air Force software modernization projects.
- Familiarity with DoD Software Acquisition Pathway (SWP).
- Experience with secure cloud environments such as AWS.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Handling distributed or geographically dispersed Agile teams.
- Understanding government software delivery reporting and performance metrics.
