Overview
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our workforce is a paramount focus at Amazon. As a Safety Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining safe work conditions and supporting the health and safety standards at our site. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
- Maintain vigilance over site operations to ensure adherence to Amazon's stringent safety protocols.
- Generate and revise safety reports and metrics to keep teams informed and proactive.
- Collaborate with Operational teams and other departments by offering expert safety advice and reinforcing safety processes.
- Assist in implementing new safety policies and improvements across the site.
Work Environment
This position is site-based, allowing close observation of ongoing operations and enabling easy access for colleagues seeking safety-related guidance during their shifts. Your role will focus on preempting safety issues by thoroughly understanding equipment usage and tasks, directly contributing to safer workplace procedures.
You will engage with various team members to introduce and maintain safety enhancements, supporting daily operations and addressing ad-hoc safety-related activities as needed.

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team plays an essential part in promoting both physical and mental well-being within our workforce. The team collaborates with employees, management, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and government safety laws. Opportunities within the team range from safety technicians to program managers, involving diverse responsibilities such as inspections, process assessments, and supporting building designs.
Qualifications
- Essential: Hold a Health and Safety NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH National General Certificate or an equivalent certification.
- Preferred but not mandatory: Valid UK driver's license, excellent communication skills with a wide variety of stakeholders both orally and in writing, and experience working independently and as part of a team.
Additional Information
This role requires the flexibility to work night shifts and the capacity to travel between and support multiple nearby sites.
