About the Role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions seeks an experienced Safety Officer to conduct safety assessments on equipment, tools, and working environments within oil and gas facilities located in Jubail. This position demands a sound technical understanding of maintenance-related safety tasks, proactive problem-solving capabilities, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough inspections of equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure worker safety at oil and gas sites.
• Examine safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and other tools, replacing any found unsafe.
• Monitor work crews to identify and report negligence in safety practices such as failure to wear goggles, gloves, and other protective devices.
• Assess ditches and tunnels, advising on the use of bracing to prevent accidents like cave-ins.
• Investigate workplace accidents to determine root causes and recommend preventative actions.
• Provide training and guidance on the correct use of safety equipment and safe work procedures when necessary.
• Ensure all safety procedures are strictly followed during operations.
• Promote a culture of reporting unsafe acts and hazardous conditions.
• Adhere to all Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) protocols before and during work activities.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in oil and gas maintenance is preferred; candidates with at least 6 years will also be considered.
• Strong technical knowledge relating to maintenance and safety standards.
• Organized, proactive, and possesses excellent communication abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in large organizational settings.
• Sound judgment and ability to handle pressure effectively.
• Strategic management experience to oversee safety operations.
