Safety Engineer

Role Overview

This opportunity is with a prominent liquid cargo port and terminal operator in Gujarat, pivotal in India's chemical and industrial supply chain. The Safety Engineer role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of safety compliance and risk management within construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to and enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements onsite.
• Perform regular site safety inspections, comprehensive risk assessments, and thorough safety audits.
• Supervise issuance and monitoring of work permits, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to safe operational practices.
• Investigate workplace incidents and propose effective corrective and preventive measures.
• Lead safety orientation sessions, conduct toolbox talks, and deliver safety training programs to personnel.
• Maintain detailed safety documentation, including records, audit reports, and compliance reports.
• Collaborate with project teams to foster a proactive and safe working culture.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• B.E. or B.Tech degree in any engineering specialization is mandatory.
• Certification in ADIS/PDIS is required.
• Between 3 to 8 years of experience in construction safety management.

Skills and Competencies

• Comprehensive understanding of construction safety regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong aptitude for identifying hazards and applying practical safety controls.
• Advanced problem-solving skills related to safety issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for reporting and documentation purposes.
