The Western Australia branch is expanding, currently undertaking key infrastructure projects in the resources sector such as the Dampier Salt operations and mining infrastructure programs in the Pilbara region.
Role Overview
The Safety Coordinator will join a FIFO project team responsible for large-scale resource sector construction jobs in Western Australia, starting with the Dampier Salt Concentrator Repair project. Positioned with a 2:1 work roster to Port Hedland, the role involves close client interaction and contributing to ongoing and future projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and assist project teams to achieve safe working outcomes.
- Implement critical risk management programs and oversee HSE system execution.
- Conduct audits, site inspections, and engage frontline workers to promote safety.
- Lead risk workshops and initiate safety improvement measures.
- Support investigations into incidents and foster continuous safety improvements.
- Contribute to the development and review of Work Method Statements, project plans, and emergency response strategies.
- Provide training and mentorship to safety personnel.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a Diploma in Work Health & Safety or Occupational Health & Safety; tertiary qualifications are advantageous.
- Has minimum five years' experience working on civil or resource sector projects.
- Exhibits strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders effectively.
- Demonstrates a proven capacity to influence and build productive relationships.
- Is solution-oriented with a proactive work style.
- Possession of HLTPAT005 certification (Collect Specimens for drugs of abuse) and ICAM Lead Investigator training is desirable.
