  • Develop robust, hard-real-time software that operates reliably on physical robotic systems beyond simulation environments.
  • Guide the technical vision towards integrating learning-based approaches and whole-body control strategies.

Who You Are

  • Expert in foundational real-time control and state estimation principles, including model-predictive control, Kalman filters, particle filtering, moving-horizon estimation, and observability analysis; capable of designing and tuning control loops from fundamental mathematical concepts.
  • Experienced with manipulation robotics, covering arm kinematics, dynamics, trajectory planning, coordinate transformations, and calibration techniques such as hand-eye and extrinsic calibration.
  • Proficient in sensor-guided motion and visual servoing, implementing perception-to-control feedback loops on hardware, understanding sensor errors and latency within control systems.
  • Proven track record of building and deploying real-time robotic systems on physical robots.
  • Skilled in robot perception, including geometric/model-based vision, 3D sensing, point-cloud registration, and calibration; capable of defining control loop perception requirements and analyzing how perception errors influence motion control.
  • Strong command of modern, production-quality C++ programming tailored to real-time applications.
  • Experienced with ROS/ROS 2 and practices for creating deterministic, thread-safe hard real-time software, including timing management, concurrency control, and hardware debugging.
