Role Overview

We seek a versatile Response Operator to join our Masterton team. This engaging role involves practical, hands-on work outdoors, providing support wherever needed. Expect variety in your day-to-day tasks and the chance to acquire experience across several workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform gardening and horticulture duties such as planting, pruning, and general upkeep of grounds.
• Operate mowers for maintenance of parks, reserves, and open spaces.
• Assist with reactive maintenance of council assets including public bathrooms, seating, bollards, and boardwalks.
• Provide additional support to the wider team during busy periods or staff absences.

Candidate Requirements

• Positive, adaptable attitude with a willingness to embrace various tasks.
• Preferred experience in gardening, horticulture, mowing, or outdoor maintenance, though not mandatory.
• Comfortable operating equipment or an eagerness to learn this skill.
• Strong dedication to high-quality work and serving the community well.
• Possession of a full, clean driver's license; ability to drive manual vehicles and tow trailers is highly valued.
