Job description

Overview

Join a global professional services firm dedicated to sustainable solutions, where architects, engineers, and environmental experts collaborate to shape the future. We seek a seasoned Renewables Lead passionate about renewable energy to drive business expansion within New Zealand's Power & Energy sector, focusing particularly on renewable projects such as solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and pumped hydro storage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with GHD’s renewable energy specialists nationwide to build strong client relations and grow presence in New Zealand’s renewable market.
  • Act as the principal contact for major Solar and BESS initiatives, aligning project deliverables with client goals.
  • Lead project delivery teams, handling roles such as design manager or project manager for client engagements.
  • Manage bid processes from initial assessment through proposal preparation, engaging with clients to develop tailored solutions.
  • Develop enduring partnerships with major electricity generators and renewable developers.
  • Serve as a trusted consultant by proactively addressing client challenges and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Focus primarily on renewable projects within New Zealand and the Pacific region, with occasional coordination across the APAC region.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline.
  • At least 10 years of industry experience with a strong record in client engagement and relationship management.
  • Proven project management skills, including successful leadership in winning client bids; PMP certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication abilities to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proactive and decisive with a client-focused, problem-solving mindset.
  • Committed to core values including teamwork, knowledge sharing, integrity, and respect.
