About the Role
Join Old Mutual in Windhoek, Namibia as a Remuneration & Benefits Consultant, where you will play a key role in aligning HR tactical plans with business objectives to enhance organizational effectiveness. This position collaborates closely with senior management to implement HR initiatives and provide expert advisory services, potentially overseeing a small group of HR professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and monitor HR policies and procedures relevant to the organization.
- Contribute to the creation of HR frameworks and instruments covering recruitment, performance review, career progression, compensation, benefits, diversity, and employee lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with internal policies and legal standards.
- Deliver expert guidance on policy interpretation and resolution of HR queries, escalating complex issues when needed.
- Analyze HR data to discern patterns, generating insights for diagnosing business challenges, improving employee engagement, and boosting performance.
- Advise and support management in handling employee relations, including disciplinary processes and formal hearings.
- Assist in developing and validating HR data collection tools tailored to specific expertise areas.
- Pursue ongoing professional development, including formal training, coaching, and maintaining certifications, while staying current with industry trends and regulations.
- Foster strong working relationships across internal clients, delivering professional HR services under guidance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Namibian citizenship is mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Commerce, or related field (NQF Level 7).
- At least five years of relevant experience in HR, with substantial knowledge of Namibian labor laws including the Labour Act, Social Security Act, Pension Funds Act, and Income Tax Act.
- Experience with Oracle or SAP HR systems is advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills for analytical reporting are essential.

- Proficiency with payroll processing, statutory reporting, and payroll reconciliations.

Additional Job Responsibilities
- Maintain comprehensive understanding of relevant employment legislation and ensure organizational compliance.
- Develop, implement, and oversee remuneration and benefits policies aligning with best practices.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct benchmarking and research on industry standards for remuneration and benefits.
- Communicate policies and practices effectively across the business units.
- Manage HR data system enhancements and produce regular reports with trend analysis.
- Anticipate emerging employment trends and integrate insights into strategic business planning.
- Deliver timely and confidential payroll administration services, including tax compliance, social security, pension and other statutory payments.
- Support budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate payroll cost information.
- Reconcile payroll records with the company’s general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
- Provide documentation for internal and external payroll audits.
