Role Overview
As a Relationship Associate within our Business Division, your key responsibility will be supporting Relationship Managers (RMs) in simplifying banking processes for customers. You will provide valuable customer insights and financial analysis, assisting designated customer groups with their banking needs. Within the first year, successful associates may be granted a small Credit Approval Delegation (CAD) and manage at least three accounts under Senior Manager discretion. This position is ideal for emerging talent aiming to grow into Relationship Management roles.
Work Location and Hours
This is a full-time role based in Dunedin, New Zealand. The position requires onsite presence during regular business hours.
Daily Responsibilities
- Gain deep understanding of customer portfolios, including their numbers, goals, challenges, and value propositions.
- Enhance ANZ’s profile by demonstrating knowledge of customer industries and market conditions.
- Build productive relationships and collaborate effectively across the Business division and other areas within ANZ.
- Partner with Relationship Managers, Senior Managers, and product experts to devise and implement suitable customer solutions and resolve issues.
- Ensure adherence to the Bank’s compliance standards and operational excellence.
- Support the financial analysis and interpretation of customer data to facilitate accurate credit decisions.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Bank’s credit policies to make appropriate decisions.
Candidate Profile
- Strong financial literacy combined with analytical skills, commercial insight, and business acumen.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial trends and their implications.
- Proven experience in building strong relationships through customer service or customer experience roles.
- Understanding of security arrangement structures.
- Experience in banking is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Preferably holds an accounting or finance degree or an equivalent qualification, though this is not a strict requirement.
