Position Overview
JFC Group, guided by core values such as People First, Innovation Inspired, and Quality Driven, is inviting applications for the role of R&D Technician. This role is embedded within a fast-growing industry focusing on innovative agricultural products. The technician will primarily be based at the company headquarters in Tuam, County Galway.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct, adjust, and test prototype equipment for validation in field conditions.
- Facilitate engineering validation by organizing and executing functional, environmental, and durability assessments on software-integrated hardware systems and user interfaces.
- Assess and confirm performance of new product features, ensuring integration between hardware and software both in laboratory and real farm settings.
- Work closely with engineering teams and engage with farmers to collect vital feedback for product enhancement.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of testing procedures, including detailed reports, photographs, and videos to guide system optimization and enhance reliability.
- Set up, assemble, and validate production test tools and stations to guarantee precise functional checks of finished products.
- Conduct diagnostic tests, troubleshoot faulty components, and perform root cause analyses on returns from field use to support product dependability improvements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Formal technical education in Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related discipline.
- At least two years' experience in electromechanical roles or similar environments.
- Capability to operate effectively both in laboratory settings and on farms.
- Basic comprehension of software operations with the ability to evaluate software functionality physically and functionally.
- Proficient in collecting and interpreting data from physical experiments using sensors and measurement tools.
- Experienced in mechanical assembly, disassembly, and modifications of electromechanical units.
- Possession of a valid full driving license is mandatory.
- A strong eagerness to acquire new skills.
- Self-motivated with innovation and determination to excel in a dynamic workplace.
