Python Developer with Kubernetes and Splunk Expertise

About the Role

Orcapod Consulting Services, a firm specializing in IT services and consulting, is seeking a seasoned Python Developer to join their dynamic engineering team based in Pune or Hyderabad. This role demands 7 to 8 years of experience and a contract employment type with hybrid work location. Candidates are preferably available for immediate joining or within a 15-day notice period.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Python-based APIs and backend applications supporting Kubernetes platform operations.
• Automate various tasks related to Kubernetes platform management and engineering workflows.
• Develop tools to support cluster administration and operational automation.
• Architect and implement scalable backend services that support platform demand.
• Seamlessly integrate APIs with external third-party services to enhance system capabilities.
• Continuously monitor platform performance to improve stability and reliability.
• Perform log analysis using Splunk for operational insights and troubleshooting.
• Work deeply with Kubernetes infrastructure including Istio and Ingress Controllers to manage traffic routing and security.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, optimizing system performance where necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, and Development teams to deliver robust solutions.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Expertise in Python programming with experience in frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Practical experience handling Kubernetes, particularly GKE On-Prem deployments.
• Proficiency in analyzing logs using Splunk and writing SPL queries.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
• Experience with Git version control systems and CI/CD pipelines for DevOps workflows.
• Knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
• Working knowledge of service mesh technologies like Istio, Linkerd, or Envoy.
• Understanding container image management including registries and security scanning.
• Competency in scripting using Bash or PowerShell for automation tasks.
• Strong analytical skills with an ability to troubleshoot complex problems.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with VMware and vSphere virtualization platforms.
• Familiarity with distributed storage systems such as NFS, Ceph, HDFS, or Amazon S3.
• Knowledge of Prometheus Query Language (PromQL) and monitoring tools.

Additional Information

The position offers a competitive salary range of 1,500,000 to 1,600,000 INR annually. Candidates should hold at least a graduate degree and be ready to work in a hybrid setup at either Pune or Hyderabad location.
