Role Overview
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) at Ohana Development, reporting to the Senior HR Manager, is responsible for administering the entire range of employee visa services, governmental transactions, and regulatory compliance within Abu Dhabi and other Emirates as needed. This role focuses on accurate and timely processing of employment, immigration, and company documentation in line with UAE laws.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of employee visa management including new applications, status amendments, renewals, cancellations, and transfers.
- Handle entry permits, work permits, Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) contracts, medical fitness certifications, Emirates ID applications, and residence visa formalities.
- Coordinate logistics for employee medical examinations, biometric data submissions, and immigration requirements.
- Track expiration dates of visas, Emirates IDs, work permits, and labor cards to ensure timely renewals.
- Maintain thorough and organized digital records of all immigration and governmental documents.
- Inform employees clearly about required documents, scheduled appointments, and application progress.
- Proactively address delays, rejections, or returns in applications, resolving them efficiently.
- Collaborate with employees, HR, and other departments to gather necessary documents and receive approvals.
- Manage registration, updating, and cancellation of UAE National pension and NAFIS; supervise company Emiratization quota compliance and generate regular reports.
- Process employment-related government transactions through platforms such as MOHRE, ICP, and TAMM.
- Serve as liaison with government bodies, immigration authorities, authorized typing centers, medical facilities, and service providers.
- Prepare and submit official documents, Arabic correspondence, forms, and supporting materials to governmental agencies.
- Maintain professional connections with governmental entities and authorized service centers.
- Keep HR updated on regulatory changes affecting procedures and documentation.
- Assist with the renewal of company licenses, permits, and registrations as necessary.
- Represent the company officially before government authorities and external service providers when required.
- Ensure all applications are complete, accurate, and submitted on schedule.
- Prepare written documents and correspondence in Arabic with accuracy.
- Safeguard confidentiality of employee and company records through organized filing systems.
- Provide regular reports on government transaction statuses and upcoming deadlines.
- Monitor government-related fees, penalties, and expenses with proper documentation.
- Ensure all employees maintain valid immigration and work permit documentation.
- Immediately escalate compliance risks, rejected paperwork, or possible penalties to HR management.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive tracker for all visa, labor, immigration, and government transactions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent professional qualification is advantageous.
- At least five years of work experience as a Public Relations Officer in Abu Dhabi.
- Extensive expertise managing employee visa generation, renewal, cancellation, and transfers.
- Deep knowledge of Abu Dhabi immigration, labor laws, and government procedures.
- Proven track record dealing with government entities, official typing centers, and online governmental platforms.
- Fluent native Arabic speaker with excellent Arabic typing capabilities.
- Good command of English, both spoken and written.
- Possession of a valid UAE driving license preferred.
