Project Planner

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Project Planner to join a prominent civil engineering contractor in Dublin responsible for executing major infrastructure projects. This role involves overseeing project scheduling and ensuring alignment with project goals from tender through live execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain comprehensive project programmes for both bidding and ongoing construction projects.
• Collaborate closely with operations, commercial, and engineering teams to develop feasible and targeted project schedules.
• Track project progress, detect potential delays or risks, and propose corrective actions to keep milestones on track.
• Develop resource allocation plans, generate planning reports, and provide updates to project teams and leadership.
• Assist in tender processes by preparing construction methodologies, programme strategies, and planning documentation.
• Perform programme evaluations and support risk assessments with mitigation recommendations.
• Participate in project meetings across all phases, offering expert planning guidance throughout the lifecycle.
• Champion best planning practices and foster effective teamwork among engineering, commercial, and site delivery units.
• Guide and mentor junior planning staff and help enhance planning procedures continuously.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in planning or project controls within the civil engineering or construction industry.
• Demonstrated background in civil engineering or infrastructure project environments.
• Solid comprehension of project planning principles from both tendering and execution viewpoints.
• Familiarity with commercial and contractual elements related to project delivery.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication capabilities.
• Self-driven with the ability to work independently while cooperating with cross-disciplinary teams.
