Project Manager – Healthcare Interoperability

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager with extensive experience in healthcare payer operations and healthcare interoperability projects. This role focuses on leading enterprise-scale technology initiatives that implement strategic interoperability solutions using FHIR and related healthcare data exchange standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of healthcare interoperability projects including planning, execution, and delivery.
• Manage project scope, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, risks, and dependencies throughout the project duration.
• Collaborate effectively with internal business stakeholders, technical teams, executive leadership, and external vendors to drive project success.
• Utilize Agile, Waterfall, or a hybrid approach tailored to project requirements.
• Ensure robust project governance through status tracking, stakeholder communication, and executive-level updates.
• Oversee deployment of interoperability technologies emphasizing FHIR APIs and healthcare data exchange protocols.
• Identify and mitigate project challenges to keep timelines and objectives on track.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams aligning business objectives and technology execution.
• Monitor ongoing project performance and champion continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Over 10 years of experience in program and project management.
• Deep familiarity with the healthcare payer sector.
• Proven track record managing initiatives involving FHIR, healthcare interoperability, APIs, and healthcare data exchange technologies.
• Demonstrated leadership in large-scale enterprise technology deployments.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management approaches.
• Superior leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience overseeing vendor and third-party partner relationships.
• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Agile certifications such as CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP, or equivalent.
• Advanced degrees in Business, Healthcare Administration, IT, or closely related disciplines.
• Exposure to healthcare regulatory and interoperability initiatives.
