Role Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with owners, partners, consultants, subcontractors, and the public.

  • Review and interpret project contracts.

  • Track scope changes and forecast change orders.

  • Represent the company professionally in internal and external interactions.

  • Use the project management system to support administration and coordination.

  • Update schedules as directed by the project manager and superintendent.

  • Prepare contracts and purchase orders under the project manager’s direction.

  • Report progress against milestones and note schedule adjustments.

  • Coordinate technical development, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design and testing issues.

  • Support safety programs and monitor related statistics as needed.

  • Work with accounting to keep project financial records accurate and current.

  • Assist with monthly progress application preparation.

  • Communicate project status to customers and make sure their needs are addressed.

  • Share progress updates with the customer, project team, and management.

  • Own the full project close-out process, including document archiving, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiency tracking, warranty work, and collecting as-built drawings from subcontractors.

  • Check project designs against engineering principles, company standards, contract obligations, and specifications.

  • Take part in basic layout and field engineering tasks, including gathering as-built information.

  • Provide backup support for estimating and project management when needed.

  • Create and maintain punch lists for outstanding work.

  • Coordinate subcontractor activities.

  • Support quality assurance efforts by helping apply company policies and procedures.

  • Draft and review purchase specifications and subcontract documents.

  • Handle other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary training in engineering or construction management, or a suitable mix of education and relevant experience.

  • Between 1 and 3 years of experience in a Project Coordinator or similar position, ideally within project engineering or heavy construction; co-op experience may also be counted.

  • Working knowledge of construction industry software such as Primavera, AutoCAD, and SAP.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work a flexible schedule; mobility is essential.
