About the Role

The Department of Corrections New Zealand is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the Foundational Delivery Digital Infrastructure Services change programme. This critical role supports frontline operations and encompasses oversight of projects related to network connectivity, data centers, cloud platforms, communication services, cybersecurity, and other infrastructure solutions.

As programme manager, you will collaborate with Product Directors, project teams, vendors, fellow Programme Managers, and senior stakeholders to guide governance, financial management, resource planning, risk mitigation, and investment decisions. These digital infrastructure services form the backbone for many applications across the digital portfolio, making this position highly visible with extensive influence over service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Digital Infrastructure Services change programme to enhance frontline delivery capabilities.
  • Shape investment strategies, governance frameworks, and technology delivery approaches.
  • Manage programme governance, financial oversight, budgeting, risk assessment, and executive reporting.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders including operational teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Develop and maintain investment plans, delivery roadmaps, and resource forecasts.
  • Navigate and balance complex multi-project environments and competing priorities.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience managing large, complex digital technology programmes.
  • Strong competence in programme governance, financial management, and executive reporting.
  • Ability to create and sustain investment cases, resource plans, and strategic delivery schedules.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, with influence over senior leaders and multiple partners.
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk management and handling dependencies across varied workstreams.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills suitable for guiding teams in matrix environments.

Benefits and Remuneration

The salary range for this role spans $154,808 to $218,553 per annum, with a midpoint of $182,127. Compensation will correspond with skills and experience presented.
