Principal Structural Engineer - Data Center

About the Role

Our client is an expanding international engineering firm specializing in cloud and AI-driven data center projects across the Middle East, Europe, and the USA. They are looking to appoint a Principal Structural Engineer to lead structural and civil design activities for mission-critical infrastructure developments, with essential experience in data center projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee structural and civil design processes from initial concept through to construction completion.
• Manage preparation and review of calculations, drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and engineering deliverables.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to structural and civil engineering teams.
• Coordinate structural foundations, steel and reinforced concrete elements, roads, drainage, grading, and external infrastructure.
• Collaborate effectively with architectural, MEP, BIM teams, contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Review shop drawings, approve materials, and examine technical submissions for compliance with project requirements and international standards.
• Lead design reviews, technical workshops, coordination meetings, site inspections, and construction assessments.
• Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ensure delivery aligns with quality and schedule targets.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Between 6 and over 10 years of experience in structural and civil engineering, including leadership roles on large-scale projects.
• Mandatory experience in data center projects.
• Professional certifications such as PE, CEng, or equivalent are preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Eurocodes, ACI, BS standards, and local regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software including ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, AutoCAD, and Revit, as well as BIM coordination tools.
• Experience with heavy structural systems, equipment foundations, vibration control, and critical infrastructure settings is highly beneficial.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is Qatari Riyal 20,000 to 35,000 per month.
