Job description
Position Overview
Join our Prepared Foods team providing exceptional customer service by preparing, serving, and maintaining a variety of hot and cold food items, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, salads, and more. This role requires adherence to all health, safety, and operational standards to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for customers and teammates alike.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, cut, and serve an assortment of hot and cold prepared foods such as sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizza.
- Offer product samples to customers to enhance their experience.
- Maintain stocked and organized hot and cold food cases and displays using items from kitchen and storage areas.
- Monitor product freshness by checking stock dates and rotating items as needed.
- Manage recycling by baling and consolidating appropriate materials.
- Support Team Leader in arranging and showcasing volume and seasonal products.
- Complete required documentation including spoilage, sampling, temperature checks, and cleaning worksheets.
- Assist with inventory audits periodically.
- Ensure punctuality, proper grooming, and readiness to work scheduled shifts, including attending trainings and meetings.
- Deliver excellent customer service, promptly address customer needs, and practice suggestive selling; also handle phone and page communications courteously.
- Maximize sales opportunities through efficient preparation, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising techniques.
- Comply with and enforce company procedures relating to weights and measures, health and sanitation protocols, and safety practices.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work and shopping environment, following cleaning and maintenance standards for equipment.
- Perform assigned opening, mid, and closing duties, ensuring signage and pricing accuracy.
- Report safety hazards and violations immediately to management.

Preferred Experience
No previous retail experience is necessary to apply.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Expected to stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours during an 8-hour shift.
- Use of hands for grasping, manipulating items, pushing, and pulling is required.
- Physical movements include bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and variable temperatures from freezing to hot conditions.
- Ability to work in both wet and dry environments.
- Flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Operation of tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, pallet jacks, ladders, and other heavy machinery.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly wage ranges from $18.50 to $25.00, adjusted to experience.
