About the Role
This opportunity is for physics specialists who want to contribute to next-generation AI systems. The work involves helping leading AI research teams improve model reasoning, accuracy, and reliability by bringing in advanced physics knowledge.
If you have a Master’s degree in Physics, or are currently working toward one, you can use your subject expertise on high-impact tasks that shape how AI understands complex scientific concepts. The role does not require previous AI experience; what matters most is strong physics knowledge, clear thinking, and precise communication.
Role Details
- Organization: Alignerr
- Work arrangement: Remote
- Engagement type: Hourly contract
- Expected commitment: 10 to 40 hours per week, with flexible scheduling
Key Work
- Create advanced physics questions across areas such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and related topics
- Write thorough, step-by-step solutions that show sound logic and careful reasoning
- Review AI-produced answers for scientific accuracy, mathematical correctness, and reasoning quality
- Work with research teams to help develop and improve evaluation benchmarks from undergraduate through Master’s-level difficulty
- Deliver clear, structured feedback that can be used to improve model performance
Candidate Profile
- You are either currently enrolled in or have completed a Master’s program in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely aligned field
- You can solve challenging problems across several advanced physics domains
- You are able to explain technical ideas clearly and accurately in writing
- You work well independently and pay close attention to detail
- Prior AI, annotation, or data-labeling experience is not needed
Preferred Background
- Experience in data annotation, evaluation workflows, or academic research
- Comfort with producing technical documentation or structured feedback
- Exposure to computational physics or experimental physics methods
Why This Role Stands Out
- Contribute to advanced AI initiatives with leading research labs and institutions
- Enjoy a fully remote, asynchronous work style
- Choose hours that fit around your existing commitments
- Benefit from a high degree of independence in how you complete your work
- Play a direct role in improving how AI reasons about physics
- There may be opportunities for contract renewal and broader project work
