About the Role and Company
Pro Administration Services Inc., based in Surrey, British Columbia, is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist with extensive experience in ADP Workforce Now to join their team. This full-time position operates onsite from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processes for various groups and pay cycles.
- Review and ensure accuracy in payroll by validating, reconciling, and balancing data before processing.
- Handle payroll events including onboarding, terminations, status modifications, bonuses, vacation payouts, retroactive changes, and off-cycle payments.
- Maintain precise payroll information for employees within ADP Workforce Now.
- Evaluate timecards and calculate overtime, shift differentials, holiday pay, vacation, and leaves.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies related to payroll and timekeeping.
- Process Records of Employment (ROEs), statutory deductions, taxable benefits, garnishments, and pension contributions.
- Support year-end activities including T4 generation and reconciliation.
- Generate various reports such as payroll, labor distribution, vacation liability, union-related, and audits.
- Perform reconciliations between payroll and the general ledger and identify any variances.
- Collaborate closely with departments like HR, Operations, Scheduling, and Union representatives to address payroll issues.
- Maintain payroll configurations within ADP Workforce Now and contribute to payroll process enhancements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Professional Payroll Certification (PCP) is required.
- Between 5 to 7 years of progressive experience managing full payroll cycles.
- In-depth hands-on expertise with ADP Workforce Now payroll software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and employment standards.
- Advanced skills in Excel and account reconciliations.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to meet tight payroll deadlines.
