About One Acre Fund
Established in 2006, One Acre Fund supports 5.5 million smallholder farmers across nine African countries, enabling productivity growth through access to quality farm supplies, credit, agronomic training, and additional agricultural services. This approach helps farmers increase income and assets on their land by over 35%, while boosting their resilience. The organization employs over 9,000 full-time staff from diverse professional backgrounds.
Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned finance professional with over 8 years of experience to lead a transformation in payments and reconciliation processes, strengthen operational controls, and collaborate with global teams to develop scalable, technology-driven finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy and implementation of bank reconciliation automation by partnering with technology, treasury, and regional teams to embed advanced tools within our ERP system, turning manual tasks into efficient automated workflows.
- Develop and standardize strong pre- and post-payment vendor reconciliation frameworks to investigate complex transactions, prevent duplicate payments, resolve old outstanding balances, and ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Identify operational inefficiencies, design and execute corrective measures, and maintain continuous audit readiness while upholding financial policies and standard operating procedures.
- Mentor and coach a finance team to enhance capabilities, nurture future leaders, and assist in recruiting exceptional talent.
- Serve as a strategic deputy to Payments & Treasury leadership, providing thought partnership, leading critical cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring smooth operational continuity.
Qualifications
- Certified CPA or ACCA Finalist (mandatory).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in finance operations, treasury, payments, or financial controls.
- Strong expertise in bank, vendor, and balance sheet reconciliations along with hands-on experience with modern ERP platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets to manipulate data and generate insightful reports.
