About the Role

The Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is widely recognized as a leading Canadian tourism business, known for innovation and excellence. Park Guides play a vital role in embodying the company's vision of crafting memorable experiences. These guides work closely with the Operations team to ensure that every guest enjoys a safe and remarkable visit to the park. This position particularly seeks candidates available on weekdays and weekends starting from mid-May onward.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging, informative, and timely guided tours as per the schedule and instructions.
• Adhere to a daily rotation schedule efficiently and punctually.
• Maintain strong communication and collaborative relationships with Park Ambassadors, Guest Service Agents, and other departments.
• Deliver educational content about the rainforest’s nature and wildlife in an entertaining manner.
• Be well-acquainted with the history and key facts related to the Capilano Suspension Bridge.
• Continuously enhance knowledge regarding the park's history and rainforest environment.
• Respond to guest inquiries accurately with a positive, upbeat, and professional demeanor.
• Guide, host, and assist tour groups in accordance with their itinerary and preferences.
• Perform safety roles for tour attractions as trained.

Qualifications

• Availability for various shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• At least one year of experience in guest service roles.
• Possess a positive, energetic, outgoing, and friendly personality.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in public speaking is an advantage.
• Certification in occupational first aid level 1 or 2 is beneficial.
• Fluency in a second language is an asset.

Additional Considerations

Park Guides should be prepared to be on their feet for long durations and work outdoors regularly, regardless of weather conditions such as sun, rain, snow, sleet, or darkness. The job occasionally involves lifting up to 20 pounds and climbing steps or ladders.
