Operations Manager

As an Operations Manager, you will oversee and inspire a diverse team of salaried and hourly employees. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining safety, quality, attendance, and performance during shifts, ensuring team members have the necessary tools to excel.

This position centers on driving operational productivity and efficiency by employing data analytics and problem-solving skills. A significant part of your work will focus on fulfilling our promise to customers by guaranteeing delivery of orders accurately and on time.

The operational flow comprises three key stages: first mile (inventory storage and readiness), middle mile (transportation to the delivery area), and last mile (final delivery to customers). While site-specific processes vary, the overarching mission remains consistent: customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, mentorship, and motivation to both salaried and hourly staff.
• Lead large-scale projects impacting the site and regional operations.
• Develop productivity plans via forecasting and collaboration with leadership to balance workloads.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, productivity targets, and delivery commitments.
• Partner with support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to meet operational goals.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting items up to 49 pounds, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.
• Maintain active presence by standing or walking up to 12 hours per shift.
• Adapt to varying noise levels and environmental conditions including outdoor loading areas and temperature fluctuations.
• Regularly climb and descend stairs where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience managing employee performance and teams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; alternatively, at least two years of employment experience with Amazon as a full-time employee.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills

• At least one year experience with performance metrics, process improvements, or lean methodologies.
