Role Overview

As a member of our national performance team, the National Weekly Benefits Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the consistent, precise, and compliant management of weekly benefit entitlements across multiple Australian jurisdictions. This role supports a significant nationally self-insured client and involves oversight of weekly benefit calculations, ensuring accuracy in Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE), adherence to legislation, and uniform entitlement determinations across Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia.

The position entails collaborating closely with internal claims teams, technical experts, payroll personnel, and client representatives to provide technical leadership, quality control, and escalation support. Additionally, the role contributes to remediation activities, including identifying root causes, overseeing adjustments, and driving continuous improvement efforts to maintain system integrity and optimize performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and provide technical guidance on PIAWE and weekly benefit calculations for a national self-insured client.
• Analyze complex remuneration and employment scenarios to ensure compliance with jurisdiction-specific requirements.
• Offer expert advice to claims teams regarding entitlement decisions and interpretation of relevant legislation.
• Lead quality assurance processes and remediation efforts, identifying issues and managing corrective measures.
• Serve as the primary escalation contact for intricate entitlement and payroll-related matters involving claims and client stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated extensive experience in workers' compensation or technical claims roles with strong expertise in PIAWE and weekly benefits calculations.
• Deep understanding of multi-jurisdictional workers’ compensation systems and entitlement frameworks, particularly within self-insured environments.
• Proven capability to act as a technical authority influencing claims decisions and stakeholder outcomes.
• Exceptional analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail in managing complex calculations and scenarios.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across operational teams and clients.
