Job description
Position Purpose
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supporting the reliable and safe operation of transformer production equipment and factory utilities. Key duties include preventive upkeep, troubleshooting technical issues, enhancing equipment dependability, and reducing manufacturing downtime at King Salman Energy Park, Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and fault diagnosis on transformer manufacturing machinery such as winding, core cutting, drying, oil processing, and testing equipment.
- Lead preventive and corrective maintenance initiatives to minimize equipment downtime.
- Oversee factory utility systems including HVAC, compressors, electrical distribution, and other facility infrastructure.
- Assist in installing and commissioning new production equipment.
- Conduct root cause analyses to identify failure sources and implement effective corrective measures.
- Track maintenance performance using KPIs like MTBF, MTTR, and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Manage inventory for spare parts and maintain maintenance documentation utilizing CMMS or ERP systems.
- Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, security and environmental standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and electrical safety protocols.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality Assurance departments to support manufacturing operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in industrial equipment maintenance, preferably within transformer production facilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulic and pneumatic operations.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, compressed air networks, and industrial electrical power distribution.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities coupled with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Fluency in English is essential for effective communication within the work environment.
Additional Information
The role is based onsite at the King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) located in Dammam, Eastern Saudi Arabia. It demands a proactive approach to maintenance management within a highly technical manufacturing environment.
