About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical background to support our manufacturing facility. Your primary focus will be maintaining the electrical components in machinery, production lines, and infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations that maximize productivity.
This position is based in Dunsandel, Canterbury, and involves shift work comprising 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off, providing a dynamic work schedule. This is an excellent chance to broaden your expertise in technical and instrumentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure mechanical reliability of the canning process equipment and assist other site operations as required.
- Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to avoid breakdowns.
- Quickly identify and repair electrical faults, offering guidance on best electrical practices.
- Support manufacturing activities through planned preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Provide responsive maintenance support to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Contribute your expertise to root cause analysis (RCA) and breakdown elimination (BDE) processes across the business.
- Develop and document maintenance procedures.
Required Skills and Experience
- Possess an Electrical Trade Certificate along with a current Electrical Practicing Licence.
- Experienced in installing and maintaining industrial electrical systems and components.
- Proficient with PLC automation, SCADA/HMI systems, and knowledgeable in variable speed drives (VSDs).
- Familiar with root cause analysis programs.
- Desirable experience or understanding of process equipment instrumentation.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues efficiently.
