Logistics Coordinator

Overview

Harbert Kenya is looking for a skilled Logistics Coordinator to join their team. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in managing logistics operations, especially in shipment handling and container management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate both domestic and international shipments to guarantee timely deliveries.
• Monitor container transit from their origin point to destination locations.
• Serve as a liaison with freight forwarders, shipping companies, customs agents, and transportation providers.
• Prepare and manage all relevant shipping paperwork such as bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, and customs clearance documents.
• Oversee import and export activities while ensuring adherence to customs and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and project teams to align material deliveries with project timelines.
• Address and resolve any delays, transport issues, or other logistical complications.
• Keep detailed and accurate records on shipments, inventories, and logistic operations.
• Compile logistics reports and routinely update stakeholders on shipment progress.
• Ensure all logistics procedures comply with company policies, safety guidelines, and legal requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar logistics/shipping capacity is necessary.
• Comprehensive knowledge of shipment coordination, container logistics, freight forwarding, and import/export processes.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
