Lead Arborist

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Lead Arborist to join our team in Diamond Harbour, West Bengal. This role demands advanced expertise in contemporary arboricultural methods and safe, efficient tree climbing.

Core Responsibilities

• Execute all tasks related to modern arboricultural practices with expertise.
• Ascend and safely work in tree canopies of any dimension using various climbing techniques.
• Employ Single Rope System (SRS), Moving Rope System (MRS), and traditional tree climbing methods.
• Perform hazard tree removal using spur-assisted techniques.
• Prune trees aligning with International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) standards.
• Operate aerial lifts carefully for pruning and tree removal operations.
• Apply technical rigging skills for removing large limbs and trees.
• Conduct aerial rescues when necessary.
• Install both static and dynamic cable and bracing systems to support tree health and safety.
• Adhere to safe work practices and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of four years’ experience in the arboriculture industry.
• Post-secondary education relevant to arboriculture.
• Strong client communication and customer service capabilities.
• Proficiency in modern arboricultural approaches and climbing methods.
• Safe operation skills with aerial lifts, brush chippers, stumpers, and chainsaws.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Certifications in Working at Heights, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), and First Aid.

Additional Qualifications and Preferences

• Certified Arborist credentials from ISA or Ontario Certified Arborist 444A preferred.
• Competency certificate for operating 0-8 tonne cranes considered an asset.
• Utility Arborist 444B certification advantageous.
• Safety training including IHSA Line Clearing Safety and Awareness is a plus.
• Possession of a D license with Z endorsement preferred.
