Role Overview
As a Landscape and Grounds Maintenance Cleaner, you will undertake a broad range of landscaping duties, including mowing lawns, edging, trimming hedges, planting trees, flowers, and shrubs, and maintaining soft landscaped zones. Additional responsibilities involve clearing snow from walkways, maintaining car park areas, performing weekly equipment inspections, conducting litter collections, and tackling issues such as dog fouling and sharps. You will also apply chemical treatments like herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides as necessary and occasionally carry out hard landscaping tasks and estate improvement projects. Prioritizing and ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards on estates are vital aspects of this role. A satisfactory Basic DBS check is required as part of employment screening.
Location
This position is based in Preston, England, but requires working in the surrounding areas as well.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of PA1 and PA6 NPTC Spraying Licenses is mandatory.
- Awareness and safe handling of needles and sharps are critical.
- A valid manual driving license is needed, with towing capability preferred.
Personal Attributes and Experience
You should have a good understanding of estate management challenges and strong communication skills. Prior experience in similar landscaping or grounds maintenance roles is advantageous. Competency with digital tools such as smartphones and tablets for messaging and file sharing is expected. The role requires independent time management, adherence to deadlines, ability to perform tasks to a high standard, and effective teamwork. Positive interaction with customers and colleagues and upholding respect for people and property are essential.
