About the Role

Square Corporation is seeking a diligent and proactive Fabric Merchandiser with 2 to 3 years of experience handling knit and woven fabrics. The position requires a solid understanding of textiles and strong market awareness, combined with the ability to liaise effectively with mills, suppliers, and internal departments to guarantee timely sourcing and fabric development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire merchandising cycle for knit fabrics from initial development through to bulk production.
  • Oversee fabric development stages including sampling and securing approvals.
  • Coordinate effectively with mills and suppliers regarding pricing negotiations, quality assurance, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Track progress for lab dips, strike-offs, bulk manufacturing, and testing phases.
  • Monitor fabric quality metrics ensuring compliance with buyer requirements.
  • Negotiate with vendors to optimize fabric costs.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation related to fabrics and approvals.
  • Collaborate closely with production, planning, and design teams to support seamless operations.
  • Ensure fabric availability aligns with production deadlines to avoid delays.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Graduate or Diploma holder in Textile Technology or a related area.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience specifically in fabric merchandising, preferably with a textile background.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of knit and woven fabric construction, including factors such as GSM, fiber blends, dyeing processes, and finishing techniques.
  • Familiarity with textile manufacturing processes and rigorous fabric quality standards.
  • Strong communication and negotiation capabilities.
  • Experience in vendor management and consistent follow-up practices.
  • Able to perform efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of fabric costing and consumption.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data handling and analysis.
