Job Overview
The Junior Loan Processor plays a crucial role in evaluating the financial background of individuals applying for loans to establish their eligibility for loan approval.
Key Duties
- Conduct thorough research and verification of loan applicant information as required.
- Assess collateral assets to ensure their suitability for securing the loan.
- Evaluate the applicant's ability to repay the loan by confirming consistent and reliable income sources.
- Manage the loan pipeline, particularly focusing on loans with outstanding disclosures.
- Perform general office support tasks including assisting Loan Officers with copying, conducting follow-up calls, data entry, and ordering necessary materials to complete loan files.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures as stated in the Company Handbook.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- 1 to 3 years experience in loan processing, junior processing, or loan setup within the mortgage sector is preferred.
- Familiarity with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and FHA/VA lending guidelines.
- Knowledge of mandatory federal and state consumer disclosure regulations.
- Experience with automated underwriting systems such as Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter and Freddie Mac Loan Prospector.
- Proficient in data management and entry.
- Understanding of TILA/RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID).
- Mortgage industry background is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results efficiently.
- Ownership of reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current automotive insurance.
- Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities.
- Capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines independently.
- Excellent customer service and organizational abilities.
Additional Details
- Travel may be required between the United States and Mexico to support business operations.
- English is preferred; bilingual candidates with proficiency in both English and Spanish are highly desired.
