About the Opportunity
Join Redion, part of Generali Group, as a Junior Data & AI Analyst based in Toronto, Canada. Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete data engineering processes to automate data transfer from Policy and Claims systems into AWS Redshift and Microsoft Fabric using tools like AWS Glue and Dataflow Gen2.
- Support semantic modeling by designing and refining Power BI models utilizing DAX and Power Query for high-accuracy reporting.
- Develop and maintain dynamic Power BI dashboards and advanced Excel reports to extract and communicate operational insights from complex data sets.
- Assist in training and deploying predictive AI models leveraging AWS SageMaker and Microsoft Fabric’s AI capabilities to boost operational success.
- Monitor KPIs and deliver data-driven recommendations to leadership for enhancing processes and overall performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to elucidate data lineage and translate technical analyses into clear insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's or college degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Strong enthusiasm for, or basic experience with, cloud platforms such as AWS (Redshift, Glue) and Microsoft Fabric (Dataflow Gen2).
- Proficient in SQL, Power BI with emphasis on DAX, and advanced Excel functionalities including pivot tables and complex formulas.
- Preferred experience in Python programming particularly with libraries like Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation in AI platforms.
- Basic knowledge of insurance industry concepts such as underwriting, claims, and risk assessment is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with ability to clearly explain complex data processes.
Working Conditions and Compensation
This role operates Monday to Friday in a hybrid environment combining office presence in Toronto and remote work. It reports to the Head of IT with additional linkage to the Lead Data & Business Analyst. The position offers an annual compensation between $60,000 and $70,000 plus an 8% bonus.
