Job Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a motivated Network Cabling Infrastructure Specialist to join the Infrastructure Delivery Team in Singapore. This role involves installing structured network cabling, including optical fiber and ethernet cables, within data centers. The specialist will support data center construction projects and conduct audits of data center components, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet network cabling needs efficiently without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Install network cabling and perform position and power audits for server racks.
• Oversee the availability and management of cabling materials to ensure installation readiness.
• Execute cable management, labeling, and maintenance of network port records, adhering to AWS cabling standards.
• Supervise and escort cabling contractors to ensure compliance with AWS installation protocols.
• Manage and complete tasks through a web-based ticketing system.
• Strictly follow AWS safety and security policies.
• Drive process improvements and document new or existing internal procedures.
• Work with stakeholders to resolve operational challenges.
• Support Network Engineering and Technical Project Management teams to facilitate smooth handover of network infrastructure projects.
• Understand project scopes and requirements, develop project plans, and ensure timely execution.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Diploma or Higher NITEC in Information Systems or related field.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in network cabling installation.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for network and physical connectivity including patch panels and cords.
• Preferred experience in a data center environment (2 to 3 years).
• Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP networking and familiarity with common networking terms, cable types, optical fibers, and testing equipment.
• Experience with virtualized enterprise networking settings.
• Background in managing small to medium complexity network projects.
• Experience working in secure environments is advantageous.
