About the Role
Join a dynamic and growing company in the food production sector during a pivotal time of expansion. As a Hygiene Operative, your core responsibility will be to ensure that all production machinery, equipment, and facilities maintain exceptional hygiene standards. This involves thorough cleaning of high and low surfaces including walls, floors, fittings, drains, and other related machinery.
Working conditions include a temperature-controlled environment ranging from 3 to 5 degrees Celsius, with some periods requiring prolonged standing and occasional heavy lifting. Vacancies exist for both day and night shifts, following a 4 on/4 off, 12-hour rota.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out deep cleaning procedures across production areas and associated machinery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date cleaning records.
- Ensure the working environment remains safe at all times.
- Keep hygiene tools clean, well-maintained, and stored correctly.
- Store cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with regulations.
- Identify, record, and report any hygiene or food safety issues promptly.
- Adhere rigorously to COSHH guidelines, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
- Collaborate and support team members within the hygiene department.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in hygiene and safety standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in hygiene or cleaning roles is essential.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Capacity to work well within a team environment.
- Familiarity with the fresh food sector is advantageous.
- CIEH Level 2 Food Safety certification is preferred but not required.
