Role Overview
The Human Resources Generalist will act as a senior strategic partner and trusted advisor to Distribution Center leadership teams, focusing on employee relations, compliance, performance management, and leadership coaching. This role manages multiple sites, ensuring compliance with labor laws and driving employee engagement as well as process improvement through the development of toolkits and training resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to Site Directors and leadership, addressing people-related topics.
- Lead and manage employee relations investigations and disciplinary procedures with professionalism.
- Analyze employee engagement and turnover data, and design retention improvement strategies.
- Manage onboarding programs and new hire orientations aligning with company culture.
- Oversee six distribution sites across Texas, Arizona, and California supporting 250 full-time staff and site leadership.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and maintain all required documentation.
- Partner with legal and HR regional teams to enforce consistent compliance and performance standards across sites.
- Manage mandatory training programs, including safety and harassment prevention.
- Coach managers on performance management, feedback, and goal-setting best practices.
- Administer HR programs such as compensation, leave, benefits, and employee evaluations.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, toolkits (including Workday, JazzWMS, Open Sesame, and policies) for People Partners.
- Create onboarding/acquisition playbooks and learning pathways for managers and employees.
- Serve as a mentor and training lead for new People Partners in the network.
- Support daily operations, administrative tasks, and visitor management at facilities.
- Manage physical workspace and communal areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Provide backup for long-term reporting and timekeeping reviews.
Candidate Profile
- Strong relationship-building skills with a balanced approach of empathy and accountability.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities effectively.

- Experience with sensitive employee matters managed with professionalism.
Experience and Skills Required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- At least 2 years in distribution, manufacturing, or fast-growing operational settings.
- Experience serving as a primary contact and managing temporary staffing agency relationships for 2+ years.
- Proficient in Spanish language.
- Over 3 years leading employee relations, performance management, and providing coaching to site leadership.
- Familiarity with multi-shift and hourly workforces.
- Demonstrated success improving HR processes and SOPs across multiple locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR.
- Experience working with Workday HRIS platform.
Work Conditions and Additional Information
- This role is based onsite in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, splitting time 50/50 between the Dallas and Terrell Distribution Centers.
- Requires approximately 25% travel, including monthly trips to Longview and occasional travel to Austin, California, and Arizona as needed.
- Position involves some physical tasks such as lifting and standing for long periods.
- Indoor work environment with exposure to variable temperatures and noise levels.
