Role Overview
The Human Resources Generalist delivers comprehensive administrative and operational assistance throughout the employee lifecycle within a multi-state operational structure. Key responsibilities include managing recruitment processes, coordinating onboarding, administering HR information systems, ensuring employee licensing and compliance with employment laws, maintaining accurate employee records, and facilitating workforce communications. Working closely with HR leadership and field teams, the Generalist supports a structured, compliant, and positive employee experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage job postings and applicant tracking through platforms such as JazzHR, maintaining accuracy and consistency in recruitment systems.
- Assist hiring managers by monitoring candidate progress and supporting the recruitment workflow.
- Coordinate onboarding activities including new hire profile creation in HRIS (Wurk), background checks specific to state regulations, uniform issuance, and scheduling.
- Track and facilitate periodic employee performance reviews at 30, 60, and 90 days for new hires and promotions.
- Oversee employee licensing applications submission and follow-up via state portals, maintaining regulatory compliance and documentation.
- Maintain comprehensive employee records and organizational charts within Wurk and SharePoint systems.
- Administer COBRA notifications, separation communications, and unemployment claim processes as applicable.
- Facilitate internal HR communications such as responding to inquiries, coordinating recognition programs, and distributing announcements.
- Support HR leadership with operational initiatives, audits, reporting, and departmental documentation maintenance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline preferred; equivalent professional experience is acceptable.
- Minimum of three years of practical experience in areas such as recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, or employee relations.
- Familiarity with managing HR duties across multiple locations or field-based operations is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to operate both autonomously and collaboratively across various departments.
- Experience within regulated industries is advantageous.
- Capability to work flexible hours and manage prolonged standing or sitting periods alongside extended computer usage.
