About the Role
Mandarin Oriental, Doha invites applications for the position of Housekeeping Supervisor within its Housekeeping Department. As a key team member, you will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in guest rooms and hotel areas, upholding the distinguished Mandarin Oriental service quality and brand image. The hotel itself embodies a sophisticated blend of Qatari heritage and modern design, located centrally in Msheireb Downtown Doha near key attractions and the business district.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain impeccable personal grooming and strictly comply with the hotel’s uniform and hygiene policies, ensuring a professional company image.
- Enforce proper key control procedures to ensure security.
- Organize daily housekeeping assignments covering day rooms, turn-down services, evening cleaning, and support staff operations.
- Conduct thorough checks of daily room cleaning and periodic turn-down service completion.
- Maintain close communication with the Front Office regarding guest arrivals, VIP rooms, and special requests.
- Provide performance feedback on housekeeping staff to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Check cleanliness and organization of equipment and pantries at shift end, ensuring correct storage of guest and cleaning supplies.
- Ensure smooth handovers between shifts with all instructions properly recorded in the logbook.
- Coordinate timely updates of room status with Order Taker and immediately inform Room Attendants of check-outs.
- Report any discrepancies and maintain service standards aligned with departmental SOPs and welcome protocols.
- Manage pantry inventory through scheduled stock-taking and requisitions to maintain par stock levels.
- Assist in emergency response procedures including evacuations, fire, or bomb threat protocols.
- Support inventory checks for linen as scheduled or requested.
- Report and monitor maintenance issues requiring attention.
- Lead training on turn-down service for new and existing staff members.
- Monitor staff adherence to scheduled breaks and company policies including lost and found procedures.
- Physically verify reported discrepancies and report guest complaints to management promptly.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- Prior experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor in a luxury hotel setting is preferred, with resort experience considered an advantage.
- Comprehensive knowledge of housekeeping operations, including cleaning chemicals, linen care, and use of machinery.
- Consistently well-groomed and professional in appearance.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
- Positive, energetic, friendly, adaptable personality with self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
