Housekeeping Attendant

Job Overview

We are seeking a diligent Housekeeping Attendant to maintain cleanliness and order within our facility at Port Hood, Nova Scotia. The role involves routine cleaning tasks, guest service, inventory management, and laundry operations to ensure a hygienic and welcoming environment.

Key Duties and Tasks

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors efficiently to keep areas spotless.
• Dust and clean furniture surfaces regularly.
• Make beds, replace sheets, and provide fresh towels and toiletries to guests.
• Refresh coffee service areas and replenish amenities as needed.
• Respond promptly to guests’ requests for additional supplies.
• Organize and stock linen closets and supply storage areas.
• Thoroughly clean, disinfect, and polish bathroom fixtures and appliances.
• Maintain cleanliness in public spaces including lobby, reception, and restrooms.
• Collect debris and empty trash receptacles to preserve tidiness.
• Clean windows, walls, and ceilings on a scheduled or as-needed basis.
• Report any maintenance concerns or damages to management promptly.
• Handle and document lost and found items appropriately.
• Sort laundry, operate washing machines and dryers, and properly treat stained or heavily soiled articles according to guidelines.
• Fold and segregate laundered items carefully before storage.
• Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing detergents as required.
• Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning products, materials, and guest amenities.
