About the Role
Blacklock is inviting applications for the position of High Yield Credit Analyst to join their client’s active and independent credit research team in London. This role centers on supporting senior analysts with a focus on special situations, distressed assets, and event-driven strategies within the high-yield credit space.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct credit research by analyzing and monitoring issuers of high-yield bonds, focusing on assessing their creditworthiness, financial stability, and position in the market.
- Perform financial analysis through comprehensive examination of financial statements and company filings to evaluate performance and risks.
- Gather and organize relevant data, including financial reports and market information, to support credit risk assessments.
- Assist in building and updating financial models that project credit performance and scrutinize bond structures.
- Support the creation of investment recommendations derived from detailed credit and industry research as well as market dynamics.
- Help identify and measure risks linked to specific high-yield products and industry sectors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related disciplines; professional certifications such as CFA or FRM are advantageous.
- Between one to three years of experience in credit or financial analysis, with any prior exposure to high-yield credit markets considered beneficial.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel (especially for financial modeling), PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with Bloomberg or other financial data providers is a plus.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical aptitude with the capability to interpret financial documents and evaluate credit risks.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling the clear presentation of findings and recommendations.
- High attention to detail, adept at handling large datasets accurately.
- Team player attitude, willing to engage collaboratively within a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm in fixed income and high-yield credit markets, with a strong desire for ongoing learning and professional development.
