Role Overview
The Head of Finance will oversee all financial operations for the local entity in Sudan, working closely with the Head Office Financial Control. This key leadership role involves acting as the main liaison with regulatory authorities and auditors, ensuring compliance with corporate governance, and upholding stringent financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage banking limits and exposures to enhance profitability while ensuring adherence to approved consolidated limits.
- Provide accurate and timely financial disclosures concerning the bank’s operations.
- Develop systems guaranteeing compliance with applicable local and international laws and regulations.
- Support the Country General Manager in creating and applying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for financial reporting processes and regularly assess departmental performance.
- Forge and maintain strong relationships with regulatory and tax authorities to comply fully with all statutory and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors regarding financial statements presentation, disclosure, and compliance with evolving accounting standards.
- Manage the annual budgeting process for the country, monitoring actual results versus budget throughout the fiscal year.
- Prepare and submit monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports to the Head Office.
- Review key financial reports including balance sheets and profit & loss statements regularly.
- Oversee tax compliance across direct, indirect, employment, and withholding tax obligations.
- Maintain the bank’s fixed asset register, including asset additions, disposals, and depreciation records.
- Ensure timely processing and recording of vouchers and relevant financial documentation.
- Manage daily financial operations for QNB entities, including audit coordination, tax matters, accounting consolidation, investor relations, supplier and real estate management, and reporting to the Group.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACA, MBA are advantageous.
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years experience in banking finance roles, including at least 3 years in a managerial position overseeing financial reporting.
