Role Overview
The Head of Early Career Recruiting will lead and expand Notion's strategy to attract early career talent across various business functions. This role involves partnering with internal leaders and external communities to develop and execute a comprehensive talent strategy focusing on university recruiting, internship programs, and new graduate hiring, employing AI tools to enhance recruiting efficiency and outcomes. The position is based onsite in San Francisco, with in-person collaboration prioritized on designated Anchor Days.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a global strategy for early career recruiting, including internship and new graduate hiring programs across multiple regions and business units.
- Lead and mentor a team of recruiters focused on early talent acquisition, fostering high performance and consistent standards.
- Provide strategic guidance to company leaders utilizing market insights, compensation data, and talent trends specifically for early career candidates.
- Introduce and champion AI-driven tools and automation to improve the sourcing, evaluation, and hiring processes within the early career recruiting function.
- Design, refine, and maintain programs and procedures such as internship conversions and offer frameworks to accelerate quality hiring.
- Establish metrics like conversion rates, quality of hire, sourcing channels, and hiring timelines to guide data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Storytelling team to enhance Notion’s employer brand among emerging talent and work with the Ambassador Program to strengthen community engagement and referral hiring pipelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four years in recruiting leadership, specializing in early career recruitment including university relations and internship management.
- Innovative approach to sourcing and assessing early stage talent, with openness to evolving recruiting techniques.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling recruiting teams in dynamic, high-growth settings.
- Proactive and strategic mindset capable of leading at both strategic and tactical levels during demanding recruitment cycles.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using recruitment metrics to inform strategy and improve outcomes.
- Credibility with senior stakeholders and expertise in advising on talent pipeline and program investments.
- Deep familiarity with AI recruiting technologies and enthusiasm for integrating tools that enhance talent acquisition efficiency.
- Thorough understanding of the early career talent market, compensation trends, and academic and community partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing structured programs such as rotational or mentorship initiatives for early career talent.
- Proven history of leveraging AI beyond tool adoption to transform recruitment workflows and elevate team capacity.
- Previous involvement in diversity recruitment initiatives targeting historically underrepresented colleges and communities, with demonstrated success.
- Established network within early career recruiting and university talent ecosystems.
Compensation and Benefits
Notion offers competitive salaries, equity, and benefits. For candidates based in San Francisco or New York City, the expected base salary range is $225,000 to $275,000 annually, adjusted according to role complexity and candidate experience.
