Graduate/Junior Software Engineer - Backend

About the Role

Elwood is seeking a Graduate or Junior Software Engineer to join our Backend Engineering Team. This position offers rotations across various teams within our Engineering department, including Backend and Market Connectivity, providing comprehensive exposure to cutting-edge technologies and digital asset markets. Key Responsibilities

• Enhance and develop software components throughout the Elwood technology stack.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to create and maintain features effectively.
• Adhere to tight deadlines in a fast-paced release schedule.
• Adopt new technologies and methodologies with a mindset toward continuous improvement.
• Partner closely with Quants, Product teams, Algo Developers, Infrastructure, and Support to deliver robust trading solutions.
• Participate fully in the software development lifecycle including design, development, integration, testing automation, and ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• Between 6 to 18 months of software engineering experience, including internships or placement years, preferably within financial markets.
• Programming skills in object-oriented or functional languages such as C#, C++, Java, Python, Golang, or Rust.
• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Excellent analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Keen interest in pursuing a career within FinTech and the digital assets or crypto domain.
