General Warehouse Keeper

Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable and detail-focused General Warehouse Keeper responsible for overseeing the day-to-day warehouse inventory activities, including receiving and dispatching goods, while ensuring an orderly and safe warehouse setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Unload shipments from delivery vehicles using appropriate handling tools.
• Inspect incoming items for damage or inconsistency with purchase orders and packing slips.
• Accurately enter inventory details into the Warehouse Management System.
• Transport materials to designated storage locations following FIFO procedures.
• Perform routine cycle counts and support physical inventory checks to uphold stock accuracy.
• Notify supervisors about low inventory, damaged goods, or misplaced materials.
• Pick, pack, and label customer orders correctly as per pick lists.
• Prepare shipments by securing items through wrapping, palletizing, and cargo securing.
• Liaise with shipping carriers and manage shipping paperwork such as bills of lading and manifest logs.
• Keep aisles, packing areas, and storage zones clean and organized.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely.
• Conduct daily safety inspections on equipment and report any maintenance issues or hazards immediately.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Experience: Preferably 1 to 3 years in warehouse, logistics, or inventory control roles.
• Certifications: A valid forklift operator license is advantageous or willingness to obtain one post-hiring.
• Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency with familiarity in ERP or Warehouse Management Systems like SAP, Oracle, or Fishbowl preferred.
• Physical Capacity: Capability to lift items up to 50 pounds without assistance, remain on feet throughout shifts, and perform tasks involving bending, reaching, and climbing.
• Essential Skills: Keen attention to detail, effective time management, foundational math skills, and good communication.
