Role Purpose

This position demands oversight and execution of preventive and corrective daily maintenance for Balance of Plant (BOP) systems, ensuring equipment reliability and operational excellence at Adani Power Limited (APL), the largest private thermal power producer in India with a portfolio of over 15,250 MW thermal capacity plus renewable assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical maintenance of BOP equipment including DM Plant, HVAC, fuel (Light Diesel Oil) systems, firefighting, cooling water ducting, RO, and sea intake systems, ensuring uninterrupted functionality.
  • Plan and execute maintenance during routine and opportunity shutdowns, including painting and refurbishment of critical spare parts.
  • Manage maintenance documentation rigorously and adhere to environmental compliance via scrap handling and proper disposal procedures.
  • Conduct site measurements to validate billing accuracy and oversee CAPEX projects to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Maintain inventory controls with material issuance and spares returns via reservation slips.
  • Perform regular equipment health inspections, promptly report issues, and manage firefighting and gas system leak rectifications.
  • Supervise daily personnel attendance, enforce proper PPE usage, and ensure tool and equipment readiness.
  • Coordinate with quality teams on duct coating and monitor the sacrificial anodes and ICCP systems for cooling water ducts.
  • Implement and comply with integrated management system standards such as IMS, AWMS, DISHA, and CHETNA within the department.
  • Foster a safety-first culture by conducting Tool Box Talks, upholding 5S discipline, following site safety protocols, SOPs, SMPs, and JSAs.
  • Drive digitization and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and adopt innovative technological solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (B.Tech or B.E.).
  • At least 4 years of industrial plant maintenance and project management experience, preferably in power generation, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors.

Stakeholder Management

Collaborate closely with internal teams including chemistry, operations, fire & safety, administration, technical, and commercial departments. Engage external contractors for material supply and service execution.
